Nate deRutte is a passionate and experienced youth baseball coach with a strong background in athletics and education. A 1999 graduate of Cardinal Newman High School, Nate played multiple sports throughout his high school career, including football, baseball, and track. He continued his athletic pursuits as a Track & Field team member at Santa Rosa Junior College for two years.
Nate's coaching philosophy emphasizes a well-rounded approach that goes beyond just technical skills. He believes in fostering a love for the game while also instilling valuable life lessons such as sportsmanship, teamwork, and a strong work ethic. He brings over 16 years of coaching experience to the field, having coached Freshman Football and Varsity Track & Field at Cardinal Newman High School.
For the past decade, Nate has been heavily involved in youth baseball in Santa Rosa. He has spent 6 years managing and coaching teams within the Rincon Valley Little League, where he currently holds the position of Player Development Assistant on the board. Additionally, Nate has 3 years of experience managing teams for the Rincon Valley Vipers Travel Baseball Organization.
Nate's dedication to youth development extends beyond baseball. He has coached Gridiron Flag Football teams in Santa Rosa for 4 years, and for the past 3 years, he has served as the head coach for St. Rose 7th and 8th grade CYO basketball teams. He also has experience coaching a 5th-grade basketball team at St. Eugene's. Through his various coaching roles, Nate strives to create positive and supportive environments where young athletes can learn, grow, and reach their full potential.
Nate is a co-founder and lead instructor at 917 Piner Baseball and Softball. He manages administration, member communication, and outreach for the facility.
